Just got back from a 33 minute walk in 38 degree rain and wind. Broke 14,000 steps for today. And it felt great too! All except for my soaking pants. Which is why I'm writing this post.
Part of a fitness warrior's arsenal of "weapons" needs to include an article that does not appear to provide fitness or a workout, but is really an enabler in such weather - it's called breathable rain gear. Really, that's it. Rain gear. And layers. Wore my Marmot light rain jacket with a sport fleece underneath. And, of course, my signature Aussie hat that sheds water like nothing else. I cannot describe the wonderful feeling being out in the rain on a cold night getting a great workout, and feeling absolutely empowered. That's the mind of a fitness warrior! And THAT MIND is within everyone's reach. It's not just for the crazies like me. Keep moving, America!!
